UFC on Fuel TV 9: Mousasi vs. Latifi

Following Conor McGregor’s UFC Fight Night 26 victory over Max Holloway, the pride of Ireland mentioned that he hurt his knee halfway through the second round.

During the post-fight press conference he made it clear that he was in pain for the remainder of the fight.

I injured my knee halfway through the second. I just can’t get it out of my head, but looking back I should have just pulled my knee from my leg and hit him with it. I heard a big pop and I let out a scream mid-round, but I passed into side control with it. When we stood back up I was unsteady on it.

On Thursday, UFC President Dana White confirmed with FOX Sports Live that McGregor will be out for approximately 10-months with an ACL tear, MCL strain & posterior horn meniscal tear.

McGregor made his UFC debut against Marcus Brimage at UFC on FUEL TV 9 in April. He instantly made himself a star not only with the fans, but in the eyes of Dana White as well with his TKO victory that came in the very first round.

MMASucka will have more on the injury and recovery process as it arises.
